I have an employee that sold his house 6 years ago and then it was sold again. At that point a department of FHA contacted him and told him that the pay-off at his closing was incorrect and that he owed thousands of dollars more or they were going to attach his bank accounts, garnish wages, etc. I told him that he paid for a guarantee at his closing just so this sort of thing didn't come back on him. What can he do now? He's making ridiculous monthly payments to them so they won't sue him!!
Help!

I bought a home and Land America did the closing process at my home. The closing agent was representing the Pennsylvania office of Land America. It is now 6 months after closing on the home. It took 4 1/2 months to get our names on the property. At this point we are STILL WAITING for our property taxes to be paid as per the purchase agreement. Land America is a scam outfit that chooses to screw the buyer of the properties they close on!!! DO NOT USE THEM AS A CLOSING COMPANY.. I am now out almost 2000.00 dollars for taxes by allowing this company anywhere near the closing table. As far as a 100% satisfaction clause...whatever have been waitng for that money also now for a month, I plan to make it nationally known to NOT USE LAND AMERICA FOR ANYTHING !!! My house already paid off, but now I want to add my sister's name to my house's title. How do I go about? And what will it cost me to do so?

Regarding tax prorations near the end of the year: If 2008 taxes and values are available, but not necessarily certified, how does a title company handle that on the settlement statement? Wouldn't it make more sense to take the 2008 figures from the tax certification for those taxing entities if those amounts are shown? Why would a title company choose to use 2007 data when part of 2008 was readily available?

this is in regards to wiring funds, would like your opinion on this, we are in the process of waiting for a wire to come in the gentleman at the title company stated that he sent it but forgot to put the bank account number on the wire, he did put the routing number but is it possible that their system would let a wire go through without the proper information on it

I am refinancing my primary residence. Everything looks fine for the new loan. However, it is likely that my wife will be overseas when the closing is scheduled. I am trying to find out if a Texas Durable Power of Attorney will suffice for the closing. The loan is in my name only, but the title is in both our names. Thanks.
